Atheistic Quote
Douglas Adams
Manifestation of Reason - Birth of Atheism
Since the masses of the people were inconstant, full of unruly desires, passionate and reckless of consequence, they must be filled with fears to keep them in order. The ancients did well, therefore, to invent Gods, and the belief in punishment after death. It was then when Theology was born out of fear and fed by massive ignorance.
There was a time when “The Supernatural” ruled. It was called “The Dark Ages”.
Awareness multiplies, and Theological beliefs decline with time as education level rises, and such ideologies will eventually cease to exist as a modernized society shall dump such creeds as myths. I believe that a mere society form of Atheism; and the death of dogma is the birth of morality.
Atheism can be defined as the mental attitude which unreservedly accepts the supremacy of reason and aims at establishing a lifestyle and ethical outlook verifiable by experience and the scientific method, independent of all arbitrary assumptions of authority and creeds. An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a mosque or church. An Atheist believes that a deed must be done instead of a prayer said. An Atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death. He wants disease conquered, poverty vanished, war eliminated.
Some understand what they believe in. Others believe in what they understand. It only requires a sense of reason to comprehend my conduction. The conduction consists of a variety of quotes and statements which - I hope - can be of guidance to the reader to unveil uncommon perspectives related to the subject.
Unfortunately, new opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common nor understood. I know that many have been breastfed of religious facts; therefore, opposition is highly expected. I just hope such have the ability to think from the scratch.
